HIGH-QUALITY MOULDED PARTS & SHORT CYCLE TIMES DUE TO

LIQUID INJECTION

MOULDING

POLAR-FORM offers you precise moulded parts and a reliable process with a focus on short cycle times with its "Liquid Injection Moulding (LIM)" technology, which is used to produce elastomer moulded parts from liquid silicone rubber (LSR). LSR parts are made of a robust, elastic material and retain their physical properties at extreme temperatures. Silicone parts are particularly suitable for applications in the medical sector or in the automotive, sanitary, leisure and sports goods and food industries.

The injection moulding process for Liquid Silicone Rubber
is very similar to that for thermoplastic polymers (multi-component technology) and belongs to the group of hot vulcanising rubbers. The main difference lies in the feeding and mixing of the two-component material at ambient temperature.

The processing time is adjusted by adding the two components, inhibitor (pot life regulator) and catalyst.
The cross-linking (vulcanisation) process is initiated by
the influence of the mould temperature, usually between 160 and 220°C. However, the reaction then proceeds
very quickly with a wall thickness of about 5s/mm.
